Tournaments National
The Park Institute is very proud to have hosted two national
tournaments; one of only two schools in the nation to have
accomplished this. Both tournaments attracted Tae Kwon Do
students nation-wide to Minnesota. Grandmaster Park's efforts
in bringing quality Tae Kwon Do competition to our state has
boosted both revenue and tourism for Rochester and St. Paul.

The 1989 Junior Olympics, held at the Mayo
Civic Center in Rochester, generated over $3 million in
revenue for the city and attracted 10,000 competitors and
visitors. It was the single largest sporting event in Rochester's
history.

The 1993 National Championships, held in
St. Paul, was the first round in competition to choose members
of the 1993 US National Tae Kwon Do team.
Regional/Local
Each year, the Park Institute holds several inter-school tournaments
and an annual Rochester Open Tae Kwon Do tournament. These
tournaments give students a chance to engage in friendly competition
and win medals/prizes. There are also opportunities to attend
other regional tournaments in the twin cities, Wisconsin,
and surrounding states.
